How NSW Flooring collects its data

Source

Every listing comes from Google Maps. The data was retrieved on 22 October 2026. NSW Flooring shows a business's Google rating, review count, address, phone number, website and Google Maps link. It collects no prices, photos or testimonials, so none are shown.

Which businesses are listed

The directory lists 1,505 businesses. A business is listed when it has at least one Google review, a rating above 2.0, a phone number or website, and an in-scope Google Maps category. Suppliers and manufacturers are left out. 156 cleaned businesses were held back by these rules.

Regions

Each business is placed in one of 22 NSW regions by its own street address and postcode, not by the search that found it. The regions are groupings of postcodes defined by NSW Flooring. They are not official government regions, and a business near a border may sit in a neighbouring region.

Services

NSW Flooring groups flooring work into 10 service categories. A business is shown under a service as "confirmed" only when its name or its Google Maps category names that service. This is a single source and can be wrong. 725 businesses have at least one confirmed service. The other 780 are listed as "services not confirmed". Every listed business has a profile page, and a page is indexed only when the business name or Google category is floor-related.

When a page is indexed

A service page for a region is built for every combination that has listings. It is submitted to search engines only when 5 or more businesses have a confirmed service there. Pages below that line stay available to visitors and are marked noindex. They are indexed automatically when a later refresh brings the count to 5.

Ratings and sort order

Ratings and review counts belong to Google and its users. NSW Flooring does not verify or adjust them and does not publish its own rating. Lists are sorted by number of Google reviews, then by rating, so a 5.0 rating from one review does not outrank a 4.8 from hundreds.

Refreshing and corrections

The data is a snapshot. Businesses open, close and change details, so check a business directly before you rely on a listing. Owners can ask for a correction or removal on the report page.
